Home Delivered Meals

The Senior Center provides home delivered lunches to seniors that are assessed as homebound and unable to prepare meals for themselves.  The same criteria are followed on the age requirements as is for congregate meals.  The meals are the same meals served in our congregate setting.  Food is delivered in a plastic, re-usable tray that can be reheated in the microwave or the oven, between 10:30am and 12:15pm, Monday through Friday.  Weekend meals are frozen and delivered on Fridays to seniors who have been assessed at-risk.  The Center delivers to seniors in the Village of Columbus three days a week. A frozen meal is delivered to this location for Tuesday and Thursday.

To qualify for this service, a nutrition screening assessment is performed.  There must also be no other means of preparing meals in the home. If you, or someone you know, is homebound, age 60 or older and are unable to prepare meals, call the Center at (575) 546-8823 and ask for Julie Bolton.  Her e-mail address is This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Robert L. Beckett Senior Complex

SunsetThe Deming Luna County Commission on Aging, Inc. (COA) manages the Deming Senior and the Deming Luna County Adult Day Care Facility.  The Building was named "The Robert L. Beckett Senior Complex" in honor of former Deming Mayor, Robert Beckett.  The late Mr. Beckett served on the Board of Directors of the Commission on Aging for eight years, three of which he served as Chairman.  For many years he played a critical role through his advocacy efforts in obtaining funding for the services and programs provided to the senior citizens of Luna County, as well as in the massive expansion of the Center performed in 2001/2002.  In 2008, Mr. Beckett was named Outstanding Senior Citizen in the state of New Mexico by the Aging and Long Term Service Department.
